We have been established for 23 years in the garrison town of Tidworth and due to high demand for childcare places we have expanded and now have a nursery in Perham Down. We pride ourselves on offering a ‘Home from Home’ environment which is at the heart of our ethos. At Poppies your child is encouraged to flourish and meet their full potential. We work to ensure we have good relationships with our parents so that we are able to work in partnership with you as you know your children best.
We provide flexible wraparound care for 51 weeks of the year to meet the growing needs of working families and you never have to worry about the reliability of your childcare as we only close for bank holidays and Christmas. We offer a variety of sessions which you are able to choose to meet your individual needs. We are open from 7.30am – 6.00pm Monday – Friday. In our pre-school rooms we have a number of places for term time only children who wish to access only their NEG funded 15 hours.
In order to provide the right care and development opportunities for your child each nursery is split into different rooms. This enables us to focus on the individual needs of specific stages of development. Both nurseries have experienced qualified practitioners who through using the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum are able to plan suitable activities to take your child on to their next developmental step.
Children are supported and encouraged to be confident, independent learners and this is achieved through the provision of quality activities which are reinforced by practitioners who know when to encourage and support, or to step back and allow children to take measured risks.
Breakfast of cereal and fruit is served for the children who attend from 7.30am on the Early Early Bird session. The children are offered a healthy morning and afternoon snack. We provide a well-balanced healthy 2 course meal on a daily basis, alternatively you may provide a packed lunch for your child to eat at lunchtime. The small fee for the hot lunch is added to your monthly invoice. We accommodate dietary and religious needs to enable us to meet individual children’s requirements. Our menu runs over a 2 week period so you are able to decide whether you would like your child to have a hot lunch or a packed lunch on any given day.
In both our baby rooms we have the facilities to prepare and heat bottles and to prepare food for your child if they are going through the weaning process. Our practitioners are experienced and are happy to guide you through your child’s developmental stages.
Security is paramount at all times and the highest standards of health and safety are maintained. The main entrances to both buildings are secure at all times, there is no free access into the nurseries. We follow a strict procedure when allowing children to be collected by someone other than yourselves and without your express permission no child will be allowed to leave the nursery with anyone other than their parent.
All our staff are DBS checked and we follow a strict procedure to ensure that we maintain the safer recruitment process to ensure that all our staff are suitable to work with children. There is no greater task than safeguarding the children in our care and we have a strict no mobile phone policy within the rooms. All our staff have up to date safeguarding training, and the management attend all the Wiltshire council safeguarding forums and training to ensure we are kept abreast of any change in legislation or policy.
In the unfortunate event that your child may have an accident here in the nursery we will always record it into our accident book which you will be asked to sign when you collect your child from nursery.
We have a full and comprehensive set of policies and procedures which you are able to see at any time should you wish to.
Both our nurseries have achieved a good Ofsted report and the Bristol Standard accreditation.replica designer handbags
